ISEWAN SPIRIT Spirit of Isewan Terminal Service - Our Core Values
What is the spirit of work that has been passed down through the history of Isewan Terminal Service?
This is the thinking we have valued since the foundation of the company, as people involved in work taking care of, transporting and delivering the cargo of customers.
Here we introduce the pride we have in our work.

Coming together as one team to realize rapid and flexible packaging solutions
Packaging Division
My aim is to create the best packaging plant in Japan for overseas exports. We have established strict quality standards to ensure the thorough implementation of quality control and the safe delivery of products to their destinations and I provide guidance to ensure that all employees understand the standards and follow them strictly.
We also consider communication to be important, so we hold regular meetings to share problems and points for improvement and have established a system to be able to respond quickly. We work to improve skills and prioritize efforts to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the entire team. One key point differentiating us from other companies is our use of large equipment such as a 60-ton overhead crane and 80-ton truck scales, so that we can safely and efficiently pack even heavier loads and products with complex shapes. This equipment has enabled us to prepare a system to respond quickly and flexibly to the needs of the customers. As professionals, we are constantly striving to improve and to provide the optimal solutions.

Offering integrity and flexibility for complete satisfaction
Sales Section, Aviation Division
I have been in charge of air cargo for 19 years. There is a lot of cargo that is highly urgent, so a sense of speed is required for all operations, decisions and responses. ISEWAN AIR excels in agility and flexibility, and I want to make proposals that capture that essence. In order to provide highly satisfactory service, we use insight and imagination to sense the essential needs and I am proud that when we combine this with the on-site skills and smiling support from our company, we are able to achieve perfect service. The members of the Aviation Division combine being truly good people with individuality and have both a sense of presence and a sense of familiarity that enables customers to casually say, “Do you have a minute?” The existence of these members is our strength, and our company culture of valuing honesty and humility is our soul. I will work hard every day to control and suppress my own self-interest so that I can be a dependable professional.

What I always strive for in the sales department
Second Section, Second Department, Port Transport Division
We receive the import and export cargoes from our customers and provide domestic and international logistics services, but we cannot make the cargo ourselves. I believe that when we smoothly complete our logistics at low cost so that it produces profits for our customers, that prosperity for the customer will then come back around to us and lead to profit for our company. Logistics costs are essentially all wastefulness. (The “small light” shrinking beam and “anywhere door” portal of a famous Japanese cartoon are threats.) As logistics professionals, we formulate the optimal transportation plan on behalf of the customer to suppress costs and then conduct the transportation safely with no accidents so that this leads to greater trust. One strength of our company is that we always have the sentiment of wanting to complete the request from the customer as if it were our own business. Transporting something carefully from A to B is the bare minimum. I think our company gives back to the customers with the added value provided in that transportation.

A presence that anticipates the future, and logistics capabilities rooted in local communities
Toyohashi Branch, Import Division
Ever since I was assigned to the Toyohashi Branch in 2006, my goal has been to enhance the presence of our company, which was a latecomer in the Mikawa area. Although Mikawa Port is located in a rural area, it handles the greatest volume of automobile imports in Japan and also the second largest volume of automobile exports, after Nagoya. Our branch handles a wide range of goods. In addition to the import and export of automobiles, we are also involved in the import of PKS and wood pellets, which are fuels for biomass power generation, and imports of grain feed. In our import operations for mineral raw materials, we have a processing plant within the branch and contribute to the local automobile industry.
I believe that enhancing our company's presence in the Mikawa area will lead to our future growth and development. As we aim for further sustainable growth, we will add the environment, society and governance (ESG) to our goals and will work to advance together with the local community.

Creating the future from a global perspective with diversity as our ally
ISEWAN (SHANGHAI) INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS CO., LTD. Tianjin Branch Office
I joined the company in 2001 as a general administrative employee and later switched to a managerial career track. I have experienced office work, warehouse work, and sales and I am currently stationed in Tianjin, China as an overseas representative. Logistics has a strong image of being a mostly male industry, but I have been able to take on a variety of challenges without gender becoming a barrier. This is thanks to the support I have received from many people, including my superiors, colleagues, and sometimes even our customers. I feel that it has only been possible because we have a workplace where we all support each other. At present, I am working to gain experience in global business and to learn about the external environment and I hope that I will be able to use what I acquire to contribute to further diversification efforts.

We all look out for each other and make it easy to work safely and healthily
Operations Section, Nippon Steel Division
All the employees share the common value that “safety is the most important thing.” We always follow the rules and act safely, even when no one is watching. We also think about the safety of our colleagues and naturally pay attention to and caution each other where necessary. In order to build up such as culture of safety, we plan and implement various safety activities. At the same time, we conduct repeated dialogue in order to create a workplace that is easy to work in, where the employees can maintain their physical and mental health and maximize their performance. We are also striving to improve our environment, by sharing the issues in the workplace as we work to find solutions.

Passing on 30 years of experience and a sense of safety to the next generation
Work Section, Operations Division
I have been involved in stevedoring for more than 30 years as a shipmate.
Over those 30 years, I think there have been considerable changes in our methods of cargo handling and the cargo handling equipment. The way each of my colleagues thinks about their work has also changed during that time.
Recently, there have been situations where we work on the same ship as workers from other companies, especially on container ships. What I have felt on those occasions was that, compared to the workers of other companies, the IK crew members naturally show an attitude of trying to carry out the loading and unloading work smoothly and safely. They definitely do not do anything reckless or act excitedly. I think it is a sense that is ingrained in us little by little from the time we join the company as a new employee.
In the past, there were times when we broke things or got injured, but we have each used that experience to gain the ability to think individually. I do not think it is an easy task to preserve such a good tradition, but now that I'm in a position to teach young people, I want to work to ensure that I pass it on.
From now on, as I am performing the physical work, I will continue to use my head to put security and safety above all else, so that I can go home with a smile on my face each day.
